On one side you have the urgency, poignancy and melodic power of the first records of Modest Mouse and Havergal. On the other side you have the precision, passion and energy just below the surface of the ocean like in the first Mercury Rev records and those from almost unknown but ultimately mythical Rollerskate Skinny. It’s really too easy to fall in love with these songs.
